SOON #01

In this section we try to bring you the most exciting sounds from the North West and beyond. Some we found by scouring around the few remaining independent venues in Manchester and Liverpool, some we found on bandcamp and a few we came across through people emailing us their music. Regardless, they're who we think will be melting your brain very soon. The SOON section of the zine is the only section that is instantly available online, other content will go online after the issue is published.

Name: SEXDREAM.
From: Liverpool.
About: Sexdream is the solo moniker of Jason Taylor-Brown, it's the name under which he deafens half of Merseyside with heavily delayed and distorted shoegaze soundscapes.
For Fans Of: Swans, tinnitus, noise rock, drone, My Bloody Valentine.
Not For Fans Of: Melody, Keaton Henson.
Key Track: through autumn, glossly.
Live: September 2nd at Bar Bloc, Glasgow w/ The Cherry Wave and September 3rd at Maguire's Pizza Bar w/ Oh Well Goodbye.

Name: The Orielles.
From: Halifax.
About: Teenage 3 piece who you'll struggle to believe are from North West England. The Orielles sound like a Burger Records compilation played in an echo chamber. In fact, their next single is on Wiener Records.
For Fans Of: Mac Demarco, reverb, daydreaming, biscuits.
Not For Fans: Thunder storms, Bauhaus.
Key Track: Space Doubt.
Live: On tour between the 4th of September and the 19th of November, check out their Facebook page.

Name: Werk.
From: Manchester.
About: Werk are one of the most promising collectives of Manchester label I Hate My Records ( also, check out Cop Graveyard and Elk Blood). They're a noisy, experimental trio that brand themselves as 'drum centric'. They list all instruments used, which I find endlessly endearing.
For Fans Of: Hookworms, misused synths, DIY noise rock.
Not For Fans Of: Indie pop.
Key Track: Beed To Dip.
Live: No forthcoming shows.

Name: Rain Maze.
From: London.
About: Lo-fi bedroom recording solo project blossomed into a fully fledged super tight dream pop outfit with the right amount of well-placed melancholy.
For Fans Of: Puppies, Slowdive, Wild Nothing, Prince.
Not For Fans Of: Prominent vocals, sandpaper.
Key Track: Anyone Else.
Live: September 19th at Stow Festival, Walthamstow.
